Garbage and recycling bins: directions

Since the beginning of this new year, if you live in Mont-Tremblant, it’s important that you position your rolling bins (household garbage and recycling) properly when you put them out for pickup. If you don’t do it right, your bins could be damaged when the pickup takes place, or simply ignored.

The reason? The Town has bought a new robotized truck. The vehicle uses a mechanical arm to take the bins and dump their contents into the compactor. It’s critical that you place them properly, and here’s how:
- Free the bins from the snow banks and place them beside the road so that they’re easily accessible;*
- Place the bins side by side in a single row. There should be a space of at least 30 cm (one foot) between them;
- Always place the bins in the same way, with the handles and wheels facing the sidewalk or the house, so that the mechanical arm can take hold of them.

* Please don’t forget that the bins must not interfere with traffic or snow removal from the public roads when they’re beside the road.

The Town thanks all its residents for their cooperation and understanding.
