Lots happening in Sainte-Adèle!
The festival J’aime Sainte-Adèle – I love Sainte-Adèle – is back again this year and for this second edition, on February 10, 11 and 12, the organizers have added “Sainte-Adèle On Ice” to the sports section. One spectacular event you won’t want to miss is the Québec Cup of Ice Climbing. In it, twenty or so climbers from all over the province will attempt to bring home the honours by climbing, in record time, an ice tower 15 metres high. Then on Sunday there’ll be an ice-skating relay race on Lac Rond.
This year again there’ll be a series of gourmet workshops in association with the festival. From February 1 to 9, participants will be able to discover various restaurants in town and take advantage of a 20 per cent discount on the prices of tables d’hôte. And the culinary discoveries don’t end there. In the culinary arts section of the festival, four workshops will be presented during the weekend to help participants become more aware of various products from the Laurentians. One of the workshops will be led by Tremblant chef Sébastien Houle.
Of course, culture has pride of place at the festival. In the visual arts, there’ll be an exhibition by Triad, a trio of artists, which is a first in the Laurentians. In theatre arts, on Friday, February 10, Vincenzo Thoma, a singer from Rome, will interpret hits from artists such as Phil Collins and Lionel Ritchie. On Saturday, February 11, violinist Marc-André Gautier will delight the hearts of listeners with contemporary melodies. On the evening of Sunday, February 12, soprano Giorgia Fumanti, from Tuscany, will present her new show Elysium, a Québec première.
You can get tickets for the activities and shows on-site, or visit www.diffusionsteadele.ca.
