Toronto/New York flights going well

Fly Tremblant is offering fares as low as $309 (USD) on flights from Mont-Tremblant International Airport to New York, return, and $388 (CAD) from MTI to Toronto, return, all taxes and charges included, with Porter Airlines. These prices are for specific dates in February and March (plus any applicable fees or taxes). By way of comparison, the lowest Expedia fare for a New York flight to MTI, return, is $26 (USD) more, at $332.99 (USD). Porter fares from Mont-Tremblant International to Toronto, return, in March, are a few dollars more than the other direction while MTI to New York return, also in March, is $127 (USD) more than the reverse direction. See the www.flytremblant.com website or www.flyporter.com to learn more.
Meanwhile, the folks at Tourisme aérien Laurentides, the public consortium behind the direct Toronto and New York flights, seem satisfied with the steady growth in the numbers of visitors climbing aboard to Tremblant. Some 500 visitors flew from Toronto to Tremblant between December 15, 2011 (the start of the winter flights), and January 8, 2012. The Porter Toronto flights are popular for travellers not only from Toronto but also from Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay, with up to 10 flights and soon, 12, every week. There were only two flights per week when the service started five years ago. Flyers are also now coming to Tremblant from Boston and Chicago by way of Toronto, with Porter, and Porter has replaced Continental for the direct flights from New York. Tourisme aérien Laurentides says Chicago, Boston and New York are huge markets still under development. TAL adds that travellers from those cities stay longer and spend more.

New all-inclusive snowmobile packages are being offered this winter with flight included as well as snowmobile rental, lodging and most meals for trips in the Upper Laurentians, north of Mont-Tremblant – a region crisscrossed by 30,000 kilometres of trails. More information on these packages at www.northernescape.ca.
