Washington Week in Mont-Tremblant
Thousands of Americans will descend on Mont-Tremblant during Washington Week, February 18 to 26, as they have every year for years. It’s one of the busiest weeks of the ski season for the entire region’s hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, grocery stores and other establishments. Tremblant’s pedestrian village will be bustling, and the mountain’s slopes will be busy.
In the Village, Tremblant’s event organizers have planned several activities including the now famous “crazy parade” and the antics of entertainers whose frolics never fail to put smiles on the faces of the younger set and even on those of the older set! Besides alpine skiing, skating – on Tremblant’s rink and on the large oval in Mont-Tremblant’s Village district – is a popular activity. So is snow tubing at the tubing park Aventures Neige. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on Mont-Tremblant’s extensive trail network is yet another.
The many who will be downhill skiing on the mountain will no doubt appreciate the courtesy of others in observing a few simple rules of the road, such as refraining from bombing recklessly down, not turning or crossing in front of others and generally being mindful of other skiers. For those for whom the mountain is unfamiliar, the guides, those wearing yellow and blue jackets with the question mark on the back, will gladly show guests around and answer queries. And for those who might want to sharpen their skiing skills, Tremblant’s Snow School is one of the finest in Canada.
